Mysterious Bonnet macaques (Macaca radiata) deaths were reported in Kerala.
Macaque is a kind of Old World (Asia, Africa) monkey distinguished by its cheek pouches, shorter tail, and ground-dwelling habits.
Bonnet Macaque is endemic to peninsular India (from Tamil Nadu to the Tapti and Krishna rivers), this grayish-brown monkey has a distinct bonnet-like tuft of hair and a hairless pink face.
