ILO
SAMAVESH
It was created in 1919, as part of theTreaty of Versailles that ended World War I, to reflect the belief that universal and lasting peace can be accomplished only if it is based on social justice.
It has its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland
It is the only UN tripartite organisation, bringing together representatives of governments, employers and workers in its executive bodies.
In 1946, the ILO became the first specialised agency of the newly formed United Nations.
India is a founder member of the ILO and at present it has 187 Members.
The Institute of Human Development (IHD)
It was established in the year 1998 under the aegis of the Indian Society of Labour Economics (ISLE).
It is a non-profit autonomous institution that aims to contribute towards building a society that fosters and values an inclusive social, economic and political system that is free from poverty and deprivation.
It is a knowledge partner of NITI Aayog for collaborative activities of transformative policy research through SAMAVESH - [a programme of networking and partnerships with knowledge and research institutions].
Recognised by the Ministry of Science and Technology as a “Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation”;
