Caecilians are limbless amphibians that spend most of their lives burrowed under soil.
They are, therefore, the least studied of the amphibian species.
Striped caecilians are a group of worm-like amphibians in the genus Ichthyophis of the family Ichthyophiidae.
Caecilians have several characteristics, including lack of external limbs,Smooth Moist skin, small eyes covered by skin and short tail.
They are native to Asia and are the most widespread caecilian genus, though many species are poorly known.
As they are an ancient species, their presence holds critical linkages to evolution and intercontinental speciation.
