State Executive Committee
The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) was established under the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA), responsible for formulating the disaster management plan for the state, is chaired by the Chief Minister and includes eight members appointed by the Chief Minister.
It coordinates the implementation of the state plan, recommends funding for mitigation and preparedness measures, and reviews the developmental plans of various state departments to ensure the integration of prevention, preparedness, and mitigation strategies.
The State Executive Committee (SEC), led by the Chief Secretary of the state, is tasked with coordinating and monitoring the implementation of the National Policy, the National Plan, and the State Plan as outlined in the Disaster Management Act.
