Human Brain Project



  • The Human Brain Project, a European Future and Emerging Technologies (FET)Flagship initiative, ran from 2013 to 2023 and pioneered a new approach to brain research, blending computing and technology.

  • A key achievement of the HBP is the creation of the EBRAINS research infrastructure.

    • An open-access platform providing advanced digital tools, datasets, and services to support brain research.

  • The Human Brain Project, one of the largest research initiatives ever funded by the European Union, received over €400 million in EU funding over the past decade.
