The Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) is a measure of inflation that tracks changes in the prices of goods and services consumed by industrial workers in India.
It is used to determine dearness allowance (DA) for both public and private sector employees.
It is a monthly index released by the Labour Bureau, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India.
The base year for (CPI-IW) is 2016.
It considers retail prices collected from various markets across 88 industrial centers in India.
