Objectivity

Subjectivity

External perspective: Objectivity refers to the viewpoint that is based on factual information, evidence and observable data rather than personal feelings or opinions.

Personal perspective: Subjectivity involves opinions, viewpoints and attitudes that are influenced by personal feelings, emotions and experiences.

Impersonal: Objective attitudes are impersonal and free from personal biases, emotions or individual preferences.

Individual bias: Subjective attitudes constitute individual biases, preferences and emotional responses, which vary from person to person.

Consistency: Objectivity strives for consistency and uniformity in assessing situations, making judgments and forming opinions.

Inconsistency: Subjective viewpoints might vary over time or among different individuals as they are influenced by personal context and emotions.

Verifiability: Objective viewpoints can be verified by multiple individuals or parties because they are grounded in measurable and observable data.

Limited verifiability: Subjective opinions are not easily verifiable by others due to their reliance on personal feelings and experiences.

Universal: Objective attitudes are more likely to be universal and applicable to a wide range of people, as they rely on commonly accepted facts.

Cultural and contextual influence: Subjective attitudes can be strongly influenced by cultural backgrounds and societal norms.

Scientific approach: Objectivity is associated with the scientific method, where hypotheses are tested against empirical evidence.

Artistic and creative expression: Subjectivity plays a crucial role in artistic, creative and literary expressions, where personal emotions and interpretations are central.

Minimizes bias: Objectivity aims to minimize personal bias and emotional influence when evaluating situations, events or information.

Emotional connection: Subjective attitudes are accompanied by emotional connection, as they reflect the unique perspectives of the individual.

Objectivity aims to eliminate personal bias, while subjectivity is based on personal feelings, and interpretations. Both perspectives have their place in different contexts, and a balance between the two can lead to a more comprehensive understanding of various situations and topics.
