Animal health: Enhancing animal health through vaccination, disease control programs, and improved veterinary services.
Infrastructure development: Building and upgrading infrastructure for livestock production, including feed mills, slaughterhouses, and cold storage facilities.
Value addition: Promoting value addition to livestock products through processing and marketing initiatives.
Skill development: Providing training and capacity building to livestock farmers and related professionals.
Livestock-based livelihoods: Supporting the development of livestock-based livelihoods, such as dairy farming, poultry rearing, and meat production.
Impact of the mission
Increased Productivity: The NLM has led to higher yields and better-quality livestock products through improved genetics, animal health, and feeding practices.
Enhanced Incomes: Farmers have benefited from increased income due to higher milk production, diversification of livelihoods, and better market access.
Improved Sustainability: The NLM has promoted sustainable livestock farming practices, reducing environmental impact and ensuring long-term viability.
Rural Development: The NLM has contributed to job creation, poverty reduction, and rural infrastructure development.
