Intelligence Quotient (IQ) is a measure of a person’s cognitive abilities allowing one to acquire knowledge, learn and solve problems while Emotional Quotient (EQ) measures one’s ability to monitor emotions, cope with pressures and demands and control one’s thoughts and actions.
EQ and IQ play important roles in a person’s overall abilities and success, they focus on different areas. EQ centers on emotional awareness, understanding, and management, while IQ focuses on cognitive abilities and problem-solving skills. It’s important to recognize that both emotional intelligence and cognitive intelligence contribute to a person’s overall development and well-being.
