Guru Nanak Dev, the pioneer behind Sikhism, passed on a message of affection, empathy, and solidarity. He initiated inter-faith dialogue way back in the 16th century and had conversations with most of the religious denominations of his times. His life and teachings still hold great power and meaning for humanity in the 21st century.

    • Example: Schools like Akshar forum in Assam provides education involve students in tackling environmental issues instilling the importance of environmental conservation in young minds.

  • Respect for Nature: Promoting reverence for nature, he urged the responsible guardianship of the Earth and its valuable resources.

    • Example: Conducting Van Mahotsav every year pread awareness about the importance of trees and forests as well as awaken people to plant more trees.
