by giant digital firms can potentially gain
significant advantages in digital markets.

competition authorities worldwide as well as
becomes barriers to entry of new players in
the digital world.
- The Competition Commission of India (CCI)
is a statutory body established under the
Competition Act, 2002.
- It comes under the aegis Ministry of
Corporate Affairs.
- Composition: A chairperson and not more
than 6 members appointed by the central
government.
Key functions of the CCI include:
- Investigate and takes action against anti-competitive practices.
- Reviews and approves mergers &
acquisitions.
- Promotes competition through advocacy
and awareness.
- Secure the interest of consumers.
