All India Survey on Higher Education
UDISE+ is a comprehensive data collection and management system for school education in India
It was introduced in 2018-19 by the Department of School Education & Literacy (DosEL) under the Ministry of Education.
It replaced manual paper forms and is tailored for different school levels and activities.
Online data submission has been mandatory since 2018-19, allowing real-time updates at the school or block level.
UDISE+ data is hosted on the National Informatics Centre (NIC) server.
Most states and UTs upload data directly, while Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and West Bengal use their own systems and provide bulk data links.
The National Informatics Centre (NIC), established in 1976, operates under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and provides technology solutions to the Central and State Governments of India.
All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE):
The All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE), conducted by the Ministry of Education since 2011, covers all higher educational institutions in India.
The survey collects detailed data on student enrolment, teacher information, infrastructure, and finances.
For the first time in the AISHE 2020-21 survey, data was collected entirely online using the Web Data Capture Format (DCF) developed by the Department of Higher Education with support from the National Informatics Centre (NIC).
The AISHE 2021-22 reports
The Gross Enrolment Ratio represents the total enrolment as a percentage of the eligible age group in the population
Mahila Samakhya Programme
Mahila Samakhya Programme (1988) was launched by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (now the Ministry of Education) to support the National Policy on Education, 1986, using education as a tool for women's empowerment
It aims to boost self-esteem, recognize women’s contributions, and develop critical thinking skills.
The program encourages collective decision-making, informed choices in education, employment, and health, ensures equal participation in development, provides skills for economic independence, and enhances legal literacy and knowledge of rights
