  • Understanding the Impact of Climate Change in Arctic region: It aims to improve knowledge of how India's environment, economy, and energy security are affected by climate change in the Arctic region.

  • Linkages between polar regions and the Himalayas: Using information from science and traditional knowledge, it aims to investigate the connections between the Himalayas and polar regions.

  • Better Analysis of Arctic Ice Melting: It aims to advance improved forecasting, analysis, and coordinated policymaking about the effects of Arctic ice melting on India's strategic, military, and commercial interests in relation to international shipping lanes.
