• First indigenously developed Pollution Control Vessel of Indian Coast Guard, ‘Samudra Pratap’ was launched.
• The Ship has been built by Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL).
• The vessel will help to check the oil spillage in the country’s sea coast.
• This is the first instance where these types of vessels are being designed and built indigenously in India.
• It is equipped with specialised equipment for the containment, recovery, separation, and dispersal of oil and other pollutants.
